Michigan is a beautiful state from end to end. It earns its nickname, The Great Lakes State, by being surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes. I’ve been told that when you are in Michigan, you are never further than 85 miles from a Great Lake. Michigan has bustling cities, charming small towns and beautiful lakefront villages and each has something unique to offer. As a lover of lighthouses, Michigan is worthy of a pilgrimage just to explore these historic sentry posts which are scattered throughout the state. Michigan is home to some spectacular National and State Park sites as well. From Isle Royale in the far corner of the Upper Peninsula to Lake of the Clouds to Mackinac Island, Michigan has no shortage of natural beauty. I had an amazing two months in Michigan, and I hope you enjoy this gallery of some of my favorite photos from my time there. All photos are available for sale and licensing.
